Take a photo each day for a year...

seems simple enough, right?

Photo #31 - Flag Up!

Flag!! Run!! I was upstairs snapping pix of the fisheree goings-on, when I saw these two characters running after a popped flag. No fish, but check out their excitement! (f/5.6, 1/2000s, 200mm)

Photo #30 - Building Graffiti

I noticed this building last week, and I had a chance to return there today. It was just starting to snow, and I took this shot from the warmth of the car (so lazy!). (f/9, 1/320s, 52mm)

Photo #29 - Ice Diamonds

I need some help, readers. It's like 2F outside, yet I setup the tripod & camera to try to catch the moonlight glistening off the tracks on the ice. Do you prefer this one? (f/4, 2.2s, 85mm)

Or this one, where the lights in the background are captured as well? (f/4, 2s, 85mm)

Photo #28 - Warm Socks

It's freezing and dark outside, which negatively impacts the lady trying to take 365 pix! So I share with you my warm socks, compliments of Mama. (f/3.5, 1/2s, 42mm - shot with my knees as the tripod!)

Photo #27 - Broken Spine

Today I share with you a photo snapped a couple of weekends ago (during the 365 period). It's a barn/shed that's weathered and collapsing.

Photo #26 - Husband's Subs

Kindergarteners bring snacks to school. Todd has to bring a snack to work tomorrow. Does this mean Todd is a Kindergartener? We worked together to make Muffaletta sandwiches for his snack. (f/3.2, 1/40s, 50mm)

Photo #25 - Tupperware Party!

To know me is to know I luv Tupperware! I was invited to a party and of course I went! It was Modular Mate Month! I was quite practical, however, and only bought two things.

Photo #24 - I've Fallen

This tree has fallen, and it can't get up. (f/4.5, 1/80s, 32mm)

Photo #23 - Pet the Puppy

Maya came to visit us tonight with her parents, Joel & Melissa. Maya's quite intrigued by the puppy & Todd & Joel were helping her learn how to pet the puppy. Playing with Fisher sure gave Maya a lot of reasons to squeal with joy!

Photo #22 - Christmas Socks

My mom has become a sock maker. I try to tell her that you can buy 10 pairs of socks for $3, but she still makes socks. I may tease, but these cute wool socks she made Todd are no joke! She finished these, and they came in the mail today. She must know he's fishing tomorrow! (f/2, 1/13s, 50mm)

Photo #21 - Book Club

Monthly Book Club! We were recalling our favorite parts of Charles Kuralt's "America". Great discussion on travel throughout the US. (f/4, 1/10s, 12mm)

Photo #20 - Saturday Steeples

I did take a picture today. Scout's honor! Instead of showing you my tasty dinner (Italians & Peppers over Tortellini), I'm sharing another photo from Saturday - Holy Hill flanked by frost covered trees.

Photo #19 - Orange Oranges

You know the routine. It's Tuesday. I go to the grocery store. This time, I take my camera with me. Whilst in the produce section (the most colorful section), I snap a shot of the oranges & the pineapples. That's all I could take before my cheeks were burning with total embarassment! (f/5, 1/100s, 50mm)

Photo #18 - A River Runs

I stopped by the river that I pass on my way to/from work so that I could share it with you.

Photo #17 - Picture Received

We received a photo from the hospice in FL. They've installed a brick in memory of Tom. That's my picture to share for today.

Double Bonus

Every photographer needs an assistant, right?

Photo #16 - Something Blue

I set out in search of something blue...the contrast of a bright blue against the snow would make a  nice shot, I was thinking. Well, I came upon something green, and I was happy. (f/13, 1/640s, 24mm)

Photo #15 - Winter Bloom

9:13, Friday night and I've finally taken my photo of the day. Our Christmas Cactus is in bloom for the second time this winter.

Photo #14 - Sick Girl

I have a new BFF - my herbal tea in flavors including Lemon, Tangerine & Apricot Honeybush. This coupled with nap time, I should be over this bug in no time. Maybe I should've made Todd sleep in the garage!

Photo #13 - Red Barn

I took the long way home and found a specimen worthy of the blog.

Photo #12 - The List

Tuesday night = Grocery night. Boring, I know! At least my purchased items list is preserved here for all to see!

Photo #11 - Sick Boy

My baby is sick. He took a shot of Nyquil (OK, it's generic, but it's the same as the real thing), and he crashed on the couch. While he rested, I made & ate dinner. He missed out on meatloaf, fried potatoes, acorn squash & green beans. At least it'll be in the fridge when he's ready.

Photo #10 - Headstones

I took Fisher for a drive to the cemetery down the road. I was working in knee-deep snow to capture this line of elegant headstones. I've been wanting to snap some shots here, and I'm glad I took the time to do that today!
(f/10, 1/1600s, 80mm)

Photo #9 - Muskrat Sunset

Sunset over the channel, the only open water between the two lakes. I was lucky enough to catch a muskrat resting on the ice next to the water (dark spot on edge of ice). As soon as I took one step, he slipped into the water. Beautiful sunny, but chilly, day.
(f/6.3, 85mm, 1/640s)

Photot #8 - Moab in WI

The blowing and drifting left us with this formation in the yard this morning. With a wee-bit of tweaking, it has become like the rock formations in Utah!

Photot #7 - Cold house

We were blanketed with snow overnight, draping everything in fluffy whiteness. I'm imagining the birdies in this house are warm & toasty!

Photo #6 - BLT Dinner

BLT dinner...mmm, tasty!

Photo #5 - Grocery night

The "fruits" of my labor from going to the grocery store.

Photo #4 - Let me out!

I put away my sewing machine to save my patience & my office. How long will it hide behind the printer? Not long. What will I make next? Either a table topper or my scrappy quilt or both!

Photo #3 - Adobe Nativity

Sunday was my day to take down the Christmas decorations. Though I'm not the most religious person on the planet, I absolutely adore my Spanish Nativity scene. This was a gift to us from Auntie Bobbie. I just love how all of the characters have the same open mouth expression - so cute!

Photo #2 - Snuggle Bunnies

The boys fished on Sat, and unbeknownst to me, Sherry dropped off Brett to join the cold, er, fun. Brett decided it was more fun to play than to fish (duh), so he got a wee bit wet when one leg dipped into a hole - oops!
What happens then?! You get to hang INSIDE (duh) with Auntie Rochelle and Doggie Fisher & play Wii!
Fishy helped warm-up Brett - awww, isn't that sweet?

The Concept

So we're at a NYE party on Thursday night, and this guy mentions that he took his final picture in his quest to take a picture a day for a year. That's been on my mind ever since. I'm wondering if I can do it...wondering if there are any rules I have to follow (I'm kind of a dork about rules)...wondering how long I'll last. I'm in! I'm not going to follow the rules suggested by some sites. I'll just snap something, each day & post it.
Enjoy!

Photo #1 - New Jacket

On New Year's Day, Todd & I decided to venture to Cabela's for a couple of returns & maybe a couple of purchases. We walked out with my new casual warm coat (so I'd stop using his), a couple lures & minnows. I've spared sharing the minnows & lures.
